What a wonderful day last Friday was with all the families coming into school to celebrate their children's successes this year. A huge thanks for your support and judging from the smiles they all enjoyed it too.
Here are some of the happy faces!

This week some of the childrens work will come home. Their folders will not come home till next Friday along with their final school report. So it might help to check their book bags. Should your child be leaving earlier than the final school day can you please let me or the school office know so I can organise things my end.

Thankyou for the parents who have offered to help with our class trip to Rainbow Springs next Tuesday. I will see or contact you all for final confirmation later in the week.
Thankyou Nadine.

Week 7 on us and Student Led Conferences!

Hi everyone just a quick update on happenings in our room. Summer is on its way and everyone in the class is in top gear getting ready for their S.L.C.and  looking forward to the summer holidays..
You will now realise that all home readers have stopped for stock take with your child choosing a book to read from their reading kitboxes.
The class are excited about their S.L.C. tomorrow and I know you will be immensely proud of their efforts this year, just  as I am. Possibly you have also heard of our resident Taniwha....now in residence in room 9 watching over everything. The class really pulled together to make this and it resulted from our mini unit on friendship and making friends using the book "Taming the Taniwha"
Our one is definitely tamed even with his own handmade lead to harness him!!

Work on the walls will come home with your child in their folders next week after the conferences , along with their end of year report. So while we use our folders for our conferences it stays at school another week.
I look forward to catching up with you all at the SLC (in a supportive role to your child) and also will take photos of any families that would like that to remember the event.

This term we have had lots of fun at Music with Mrs Lyons as the link below shows. Enjoy! , actually priceless some of the footage. A big thanks to Adrian Hodge for doing this too.

week 4

Hi Everyone and a big thankyou to all of you who have made my return so easy and pleasurable. You can't imagine how much I missed the class, despite being sick enough for my mum to come and nurse me! (what would we do without Mums?) I'm told you are always their baby even in your late 50's (Ha Ha)
Mrs Naidoo was amazing making herself available for such a long time and the children have continued to progress throughout the term with her....and grow at least a few cm's I'm sure.
We will be sending home the invitations for our Student Led Conferences next Monday. This is a very special day where the children come with their families and celebrate all that they have achieved this year. It's in room 9 informal and very relaxed.
I realise some of you won't have experienced this before. The day is a special one with great memories for your child. They are allowed to be the FOCUS for the day and have the opportunity to share all their amazing work. I am there but as a support (Gofor) to ensure everything runs smoothly.
I'll take family photos for the memory album and you will have an opportunity to write your own special letter to them. Some children cherish these and still have them years later so it is a special milestone for them.
If you return your slip to me as soon as possible I can ensure you get the best time for your family and it all fits in with siblings.
Hopefully everyone has also received the Rainbow Springs trip notice coming up next month.A great way to end and celebrate the year. Hopefully many of you can come to that.
The next few weeks we will be doing printing and painting so please enclose an old shirt or leave their best clothes for the weekends. It could get messy but be LOTS of FUN!
Many Thanks
Nadine .

Term 4

Term 4 is now well on its way with us all back safely, healthy and full of special Holiday stories.
I  unfortunately fell sick in the last week ( not surprising with the high numbers of children away sick last term ) So didn't catch up with many of you or send home the promised Booster Packs. However now looking forward to the term as we have an exciting and fun filled one ahead.

The warmer weather is coming now and there is an expectation for all children to wear a hat when outside. A big thanks to those children who have got their hat and wearing them. I must say the last two days its been more for warmth. Here is our latest class photo in front of the wonderful rhodos down on Jackson Park. What a crew....I think many have grown over the holidays too.
Day 1 Term 4 .

Notices for upcoming school trips have come home too, so please check your child's bag for these.
So watch this space for new photos, events and happenings.

Heres a few photos of  something Joshua did in the holidays. .His photos were taken during the holidays when Joshua met Rud the Bug man at the Museum. He shared this with the class today which they loved.

Week 7

Week 7 was a great week with everyone at school and lots of wonderful experiences like our trip to the museum, Science expo and skipping with our buddy class!
A huge thanks for all of our parents who came on Monday . I think we all learnt something new and felt very proud of the class and we couldn't do it without you!. Attaching some photos of our morning there.
Couldn't resist including the latest class photo. Bernie is an absolute godsend as the 3rd person in the room when getting an idea across  smoothing over an unsettled child in the morning. Here they set him up for the photo...

Class of 2015,Term 3.

On the bus and on our way!

Mrs Liley shared about the special volcanoes in Rotorua.

We even had time to look around the museum

Tony's group found a hole in the floor!!!!

There was lots of discussions.

Apart from the Taniwha and where he lives now ,there was lots of talk about "Calderas"
as explained below.

Yes we do live in a pretty unique place.

You will also have heard we have been skipping at school. Not a natural thing to do as a five year old. However it has been amazing seeing the progress your child has made here. we have been lucky with our buddy class helping us....as the photos show.

The photos say it all! Lots of fun and reminding me of how fit I need to be to be a teacher!
Look forward to seeing you at our jump off September 17 2.30 - 3.00pm.
