Week 11

Week 11 and we are fast approaching the end of an extremely busy and exciting term. Your child has brought their folder home to share with you showing their academic growth and how well they are settling into the learning year. (This now needs to be brought back ready to add things for next term).please keep the term report though. Thankyou to those who have already done this (:-)

To help maintain your child's progress in literacy I will be sending home a reading Challenge for the holidays. PLEASE!!!! this is entirely optional and  at your discretion
Children who do complete this Challenge will earn 5 stickers towards their personal sticker charts. We have completed 2 of these activities already so the children can do these independently.

At this stage of the term I would like to give a warm thanks to all the parents, nanas, and caregivers who have helped this term. No matter how big or small the help. Please believe me  it is really appreciated. Galas, trips, reading at night, PMP and writing help  etc doesn't just  happen without your input.

Please check out our new "Cat in the Hat"" gallery of readers.....when next in  the class. As part of a mini literacy focus we are enjoying the magic of Dr Suess. You might already of heard anyway from your child. Well enjoy your child as I have this term and have a restful time.  I intend to as I spend some quality time with my husband Tony over the next few weeks.
Looking forward to Term 2.
Until then
Nadine McLaughlin.

Week 9

Hello everyone I trust you all made the most of the longer Easter weekend break, from some of the news shared it's sounds like lots of you did some amazing things. Despite the short week the class have been busy and learning about the changing seasons. Despite the warmer weather signs are there and it brings back my childhood memories of kicking through the fallen leaves in the forests.  No doubt our big oak trees will allow us to do just that before the holidays!Yeeha!

Your child will have brought home their Assessment Folders this week. These are ongoing and just a snippet of the amazing work your child has covered this term.
NB:  You keep the 3 page report with the remainder being returned this coming week please, so I can continue to add to them.
Room 9 also won the Principals cup for outstanding listening and sitting in our latest school assembly too!. They were truly awesome and showed just how much hey have gelled as a class..

Don't forget too in week 10 on the Friday we have our walk to Tihi Otonga so please make sure your child has suitable footwear for walking . Also remember we are having a shared lunch on our return to school so please join us if your lunchbreak allows. Our last 2 weeks we are having a celebration of all the DR Suess books (Cat in the Hat) Your child might ask to bring some along to share. To help me though can you name them to avoid lost or swapped books.
Thankyou to all the parents who helped in PMP on the Wednesday (we have now stopped until term 2 because of the Hall use) and also my thanks  in advance for all the parents who have offered help for Friday. Fingers crossed for excellent walking weather .Bit of an unknown at present. Hope to see you all then.
