week 10

As we come to the end of term 2 I want to send a big thankyou to all the parents who have generously helped and supported us in room 3. From delicious delivered Birthday cakes to parent helping on trips it is all really appreciated.
We have seen a lot of absences through sickness this term and I am sure you will appreciate while we try to stay healthy with tissues,  handwashing and table sprays etc in class  it very easy for illness to spread.  Hopefully the 2 week break will allow your child to rest and build up some resistance for our true WINTER term.
As part of the end of term I will ensure all clothing and personal belongings will come home with your child, and for the last day please keep their book bags at home and allow them to bring a game instead to share in our sharing time. Some children have already received their Booster Reader packs and I encourage all children to at least write something each day to keep their writing and spelling going.
NB: Some children have lost or misplaced reading books during the term and a note to this effect has been sent home for payment to replace these books. We would only do this after a lengthy time where the books just haven't been returned. Should you find them in the holidays , Great!!!!! just return them with your child on the first day back.
Also don't forget to check out the childrens Matariki Art now completed and on display in the room.
Well my best wishes to all the families for the Winter break, many have told me they are off overseas ( even to Lapland????) but wherever they are I wish them all a safe and restful break.

It's going to be another  fun "Science Focussed"  term next and I can't wait! plus my daughter ( who the class all know about) is also going to visit the class in week 2 while over from China.
All my best
Nadine
